New flexible hours that include early mornings and evenings will take effect March 4 at Marshfield Clinic Elk Mound Center, 112 Independence Dr.
The four-year-old primary care clinic is currently open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Center Manager Jennifer Benrud said the adjustment in hours is designed to accommodate residents who commute to work in Eau Claire or Menomonie.
"We want to be able to provide services for patients who arrive home after 5 p.m.," Benrud said. "Early morning hours will also be convenient for parents of school-age children."
Benrud said Elk Mound Center also accepts walk-ins and same day appointments. The new hours are: Monday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The new hours coincide with the arrival of nurse practitioner Kristin Rubenzer, who begins seeing patients March 4.
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education in more than 50 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
