MARSHFIELD – Additional actions need to take place in Wisconsin to limit the spread of COVID-19 across the state.
As Wisconsinites we need to be masking, social distancing, avoiding crowds and utilizing other common-sense safeguards that are proven ways to slow the spread. This will take shared sacrifice from all of us to overcome the challenges the virus has placed on our daily lives.
At Marshfield Clinic Health System we are not immune. We have furloughed hundreds of employees, non-essential staff have been working remotely since March, and essential staff have been working at full capacity. Everyone working in or entering our facilities is required to wear a mask. It isn't what we want to do, but we realize it is necessary.
We have seen the impact the pandemic has had on the communities where we live and work, and the impact it has had on our own families.
We encourage you to remain strong and vigilant in your response to the pandemic. Support your favorite local restaurants by ordering takeout and find other ways to support local businesses while limiting the spread of this virus. We would also encourage our counties and communities to come together to work with their public health officials to determine what orders or efforts may work to help contain the virus with actions specific to their community's needs. The faster that we come together to address this head on, the faster we can resume more of the daily activities that make Wisconsin a great place to live.
