Marshfield Clinic is expanding its care for patients in central Wisconsin by providing cardiology, oncology, orthopedic and urology services beginning this month at Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics in Friendship.
Six physicians, Drs. Charles McCauley and Milind Shah, cardiology; Dr. Seth Fagbemi, oncology; Drs. Wayne Christie, and John McDonough, orthopedics; and J. Vincent Thomalla, urology; will provide service in Friendship beginning in the next 30 days.
"Cardiology, orthopedics and oncology are large services of Marshfield Clinic, and urology was not available locally until now in Adams County," said Steve Hubler-Marti, a Clinic district administrator. "The Clinic's goal is to make it easier for patients to access the sub-specialty care they need without leaving their community."
Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics has served the Adams County area since 1959 and offers 24-hour emergency care, clinic, inpatient care, outpatient services, diagnostic testing, surgical procedures and senior services.
Hubler-Marti said the Clinic could provide additional services at Moundview in the future. Moundview originally contacted Marshfield Clinic regarding Clinics physicians possibly providing local care for patients in the Adams County area.
"This is a chance to help more patients in central Wisconsin," Hubler-Marti said. "Highway 13 passes through Friendship and is a direct link to Marshfield. We see this as an opportunity to support the great care Moundview already provides."
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education in more than 50 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
