Pediatric Endocrinology - Cushing Syndrome

Cushing syndrome comes as a result of a tumor in the pituitary gland that stimulates the adrenals to produce excessive hormones (corticosteroids).

Symptoms may include obesity, failure to grow, muscle weakness, acne and high blood pressure. Marshfield Clinic has physicians expertly trained in the treatment of this condition.

Treatments

In the case of a tumor, the most common treatment option is surgery.
