Learn more about getting started with a fun and realistic fitness program during a free Health Talk at 5 p.m. on March 5 at Marshfield Clinic Woodruff Center.
Laura Stoffel, fitness instructor with Marshfield Clinic Woodruff Center, and Dr. Martina Ziegenbein, Marshfield Clinic rheumatologist, will offer information about why and how to get started on a doable fitness program.
“This program will be for anyone interested in feeling more fit and healthy,” Ziegenbein said. “I’ll let people know why it’s important to exercise from a medical perspective and offer information on how to get started. Everyone has individual motivations.”
Participants will receive specific examples of how to form a weekly routine, Stoffel said.
“I can teach people not only how to reach a goal, but also how to maintain their fitness level once they have achieved their goal,” she said.
Increasing physical activity is a key component for reducing the risk for heart disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases, Ziegenbein said.
