What conditions does the rehab program treat?

Your child is a candidate for inpatient rehab if he is between 2 and 18. We help children with physical or cognitive deficits due to trauma or disease.

Our team can help your child with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and other areas affected by serious injury or illness.

We treat various conditions, including (but not limited to):

  • Brain injury
  • Multiple trauma
  • Neurologic disorders
  • Orthopedic conditions
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Stroke

Marshfield Children's Hospital pediatric unit and therapy spaces are environments designed to support your child's optimum function.

Independence Square
A community-designed environment where your child can practice what they've learned in therapy and apply it in a community setting.

Snoezelen Room
A safe environment where your child enjoys subtle stimulation of primary senses. Snoezelen Room features:

  • Banana swing
  • Bubble tube
  • Changing LED lights
  • Fiber optic lights
  • Relaxation music

Physical and occupational therapy gyms
A state-of-the-art treatment and technology space for your child's rehabilitation.

Schooling and tutoring needs
​A social worker to help your child through school and homework needs.

Who cares for my child in pediatric rehabilitation?

A doctor who specializes in pediatric rehabilitation leads our program.

An extensive care team of pediatric nurses, Child Life Specialists, physical therapists and additional specialists are there for you and your child during all phases of your journey from injury through discharge.

Your child's team also may include:
