Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Marshfield Children's Hospital provides an eight bed, Level I Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) right in central Wisconsin's backyard.

What makes a Level I PICU?

A Level I PICU provides highest level of intensive care to critically injured or seriously ill newborn infants and children up to 19 years of age.

Who cares for my children in PICU?

Marshfield Children's Hospital PICU has central Wisconsin's only on-staff pediatric intensivists, doctors trained to care for critically ill and injured children. 

Additionally, nurses in PICU have received specialized training in critical care for the pediatric population.​

Our pediatric intensivists and nurses work with Marshfield Clinic specialists to care for your child. Specialties include:

  • Cardiology (heart)
  • Trauma (serious injury)
  • Orthopedics (bones and muscles)
  • Gastroenterology (stomach and intestines)
  • Nephrology (kidneys)
  • Oncology (cancer)
  • Neurology (nerves and nervous system)

Visiting Hours - Daily
10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
