Provider Bio

“I take care of very sick patients,” explains Dr. Al-Bacil. “My specialty puts me in a position where I do my very best to help patients when they are badly injured or have a serious disease. I also work a lot with their families, helping them get through what can be very tough times.”

Many of Dr. Al-Bacil’s patients come under his care when they are admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. He also helps people manage pulmonary diseases like asthma, COPD, pulmonary hypertension and other chronic lung diseases. Sleep disorder management is another area in which he has expertise and experience.

Dr. Al-Bacil credits his parents, both teachers, with giving him the drive to learn and excel in his education and medical career. He left a successful practice in Egypt for the opportunity to practice leading edge medicine in the United States. He and his wife, Ashley, were married in 2011. In his spare time, he likes to travel and enjoys outdoor activities like boating, fishing and hiking.

Dr. Al-Bacil is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care and sleep medicine. He earned his medical degree at Cairo University School of Medicine in Egypt. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital/Northwestern University in Chicago and completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Tennessee.
