“Having a patient refer one of their friends or loved ones is the ultimate compliment to me.”
If Wisconsin ever needs a spokesperson to promote the advantages of living here, they may want to consider Dr. Greg Burnett, a longtime Marshfield Clinic Health System Obstetrics and Gynecology physician (OB/GYN), who raised his family in the Chippewa Valley.
Arriving in 1994, Dr. Burnett found the Chippewa Valley to be a perfect fit. He joined Marshfield Clinic Health System in 1997, and has been there ever since, except for a year and a half working as the Chief Medical Officer at a hospital in Madison.
“I have always felt Marshfield Clinic offers an outstanding venue to practice high quality cutting edge medicine,” he said. “Managing health care outside of Marshfield Clinic strengthened my conviction that Marshfield Clinic is a truly great organization for physicians and more importantly, for patients. Opening our hospital in Eau Claire enhances this belief.”
Dr. Burnett has not only witnessed the Health System’s growth in western Wisconsin, he was deeply involved in it. He has held important leadership positions, including West District Medical Director from 2005-2010. He played a key role in expanding primary and specialty care, and after achieving those goals, Dr. Burnett returned to what he loves best – his OB/GYN medical practice. He enjoys practicing the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology, from wellness to babies, to surgeries when needed.
Dr. Burnett also sees patients in Stanley by appointment.
“I find mastering the diversity of obstetrics and gynecology not only rewarding to me, but also of great benefit to my patients,” he said.
A graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Burnett also holds a master’s degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University School of Public Health.
Dr. Burnett and his wife, Teresa, have two daughters and a son. In his free time, he is passionate about spending time with family, curling, fishing and traveling. He loves the culture of the Chippewa Valley residents. “Everyone is friendly, has a great work ethic, and has a love of our Midwestern lifestyle.”
