Dr. Amanda Eilers was born in Portage,
Wisconsin, and is happy to return home
and serve patients where she grew up.
“The opportunity to come back home
to my roots and serve the patients
I grew up around is a tremendous
honor,” Dr. Eilers said.
She got into medicine to serve others
and help people live healthier lifestyles.
Dr. Eilers chose thoracic surgery
because she enjoys the complexity
of the diagnoses she is able to treat.
“Surgical specialties offer a unique
opportunity to literally repair or improve
a disease process with your own hands,”
Dr. Eilers said. “Taking care of my
patients and seeing them make progress
is what I love about my work.”
Her focus in patient care is to treat patients as if they were her own family.
Dr. Eilers earned her medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa.
She then completed a six-year residency program in cardiothoracic surgery at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Outside work, Dr. Eilers enjoys spending time with her husband, their son, and yellow lab. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, photography and watching
the Green Bay Packers.
