“The only accomplishment that
matters to me is seeing our patients
become healthier.”
Since his childhood in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Dr. Sumeet Goel wanted to be a small-town community doctor.
“My main desire is to be a high-quality community physician,” he said. “I have the privilege of caring for families in our community, which is something I don’t take lightly.”
After receiving his bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan, Dr. Goel moved to Virginia Tech for medical school and completed his family medicine residency in Orlando, Florida. Throughout his schooling his heart never left the Midwest.
“It’s supposed to be snowing on Christmas and pretty in the summer,” he said. “We knew we wanted to settle in this area. This is a fantastic place to take care of patients and raise a family.”
Dr. Goel seeks to adapt the latest health care guidelines into a patient’s individual lifestyle and personal desires. This creates a tailored approach which ultimately improves overall health.
“In medicine we are always tweaking to improve outcomes,” Dr. Goel said. “The best part about family medicine is we get to connect with our patients over time, make adjustments, and see the impact on their day-to-day life.”
Along with caring for patients, Dr. Goel is passionate about his family and sports. He has been an avid Packers fan since childhood and enjoys watching football and basketball. More significantly he enjoys watching his two children grow while spending time with his family outdoors. “I’m a sports fanatic, family man who tries to get out of the house sometimes.”
