Dr. Richard Fossen specializes in general internal medicine and cares for adults in all stages of their lives. He joined Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center’s Internal Medicine team in 1989 after working for the Lakeland Medical Associates. In his practice, he focuses on disease prevention, health promotion and care of acute and chronic problems.
According to Dr. Fossen, “I am most passionate about providing great quality care to my patients and being there when they need me.” Dr. Fossen diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions, but has a special interest in cardiology and Dr. Fossen grew up in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, but decided to move his family further north to live in an area where outdoor recreation is right outside his back door. He, his wife and five children are very active and enjoy the small, close-knit Northwoods community. Dr. Fossen is an experienced marathon runner and has completed marathons around the country including the Boston Marathon, the New York City Marathon and others in Chicago, Minneapolis and Washington, D.C.
Dr. Fossen attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He then completed his Internship and Residency at the Medical College Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee. Dr. Fossen is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the American Board of Geriatrics.
He is licensed to practice in Wisconsin.
