Dr. Patricia Ellis is a clinical psychologist who works with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, personality disorders, crisis situations and other mental health issues.
Dr. Ellis believes in listening to patients’ goals and helping them achieve those goals through therapy.
“I want my patients to think of our appointments as a collaboration where I’m helping them develop skills to improve their symptoms and relationships and meet personal goals,” she said.
Previously a music teacher, Dr. Ellis discovered her interest in psychology when she realized she spent a lot of time between classes listening to students’ concerns and problems.
“I decided I needed more training to help them effectively,” she said.
She earned her master’s degree in psychology from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and her Ph.D. from University of South Dakota in Vermillion. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex.
Since then, she has held clinician and program manager positions in the public and private sectors.
Dr. Ellis chose to continue her career in Marshfield to be near family and because of Marshfield Clinic Health System’s reputation for providing high-quality patient care.
She likes to spend time reading, crafting and going for walks.
