Dr. Kristin Ebert sees urology not just as a surgical specialty—she uses the practice to help patients navigate diverse personal issues and find a path to a more fulfilling life.
“I just fell in love with urology because of the mix of clinical care and surgery," Dr. Ebert said. “You develop long-term relationships with patients and get the chance to talk to patients with sensitive issues and really just improve their quality of life."
She treats both adults and children for a wide range of urologic issues. Regardless of age or condition, Dr. Ebert tries to create a collaborative, open line of communication with her patients.
“Especially with children, it is important to be patient and let their entire family voice their concerns," she said. “With adults, we work together, and I have the patient participate as we create the best care plan for their specific needs."
Dr. Ebert specializes in pediatric urology, and she treats the full spectrum of childhood urologic conditions. These include both common conditions such as circumcision complications and undescended testicles, but also more complex issues such as hypospadias, vesicoureteral reflux, congenital urinary tract obstruction, and neurogenic bladder.
She also treats a broad range of adult conditions, including urologic cancer, kidney stones, and urinary incontinence. She sees both male and female patients, but has a special interest in helping women, as Dr. Ebert says women can feel more at ease seeing a female provider or can be underserved for urological issues.
Dr. Ebert offers the full range of surgical techniques in urology for both adults and children, including open, endoscopic, and laparoscopic/robotic surgery.
Dr. Ebert is a Wisconsin native and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for both her undergraduate and medical training. She completed her urology residency at Ohio State University and her pediatric urology fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Dr. Ebert is married with two children. In her spare time, she enjoys competing in triathlons, playing piano, and baking.
