How the body works has always fascinated Dr. Jaswinder Chalia. Questions about how and why things happen in the body pushed her to pathology as it gives answers to those questions about every organ in the body.
“I love being able to help my patients behind the scene; I feel omnipresent," Dr. Chalia said. “I'm always there looking at the pathology of patients but just not visible most of the time."
Although behind the scenes, Dr. Chalia focuses on quality and improvement to give her patients the best care possible.
“There is always room for improvement," she said. “There is always room to do better. As physicians, we better ourselves so that we can provide better care for our patients in every field."
Dr. Chalia earned her medical degree from University of Mississippi –School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. She completed her residency at University of Mississippi Medical Center also in Jackson. Additionally, she completed a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh - Medical Center Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in transplant and liver pathology and a fellowship at the University of Minnesota – Hospitals & Clinics in Minneapolis, Minnesota in surgical pathology.
