“Women need individualized care; it’s
your story. I’m here to support you in
creating the birth experience you want.”
After spending more than 12 years
as a labor and delivery nurse, Jamie
Ott pursued her master’s degree in
midwifery. As a registered nurse, Jamie
loved the labor and delivery support she
was able to offer her patients. Becoming
a midwife allows her to continue that
connection in an advanced role.
“I knew this was something I wanted to
do,” she said. “And, I knew there was a
need here for midwives.”
As a Pittsville native, Marshfield Clinic
Health System was the right location for
Jamie to start her practice. She spent
about six months of her training with
the Health System’s midwives in Eau
Claire. She said their group was amazing
and gave her education and insight to
implement the program here.
“This is the right place because this is my community,” Jamie said.
Jamie is passionate about empowering women in their health care. She educates her patients on birthing options, and encourages them to be part of the decision-making. As a certified nurse midwife, Jamie can do more than care for pregnant women. She treats women through all stages of reproductive health, and works with her health care team to provide holistic care.
“I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families,” she said. “I spend time listening and involving women in their care.”
Jamie and her husband, Dan, keep busy with their kids’ activities and enjoy traveling in their spare time.
