Dr. Ellen Parris joined the Marshfield Clinic's medical staff in 1991. Dr. Parris diagnoses and treats disorders and diseases of the nervous system. She specializes in epilepsy, movement disorders including Parkinson's disease and tremors, multiple sclerosis, stroke, neuromuscular and peripheral nerve disorders, migraine headaches, head injuries and memory disorders including Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Parris who is a military veteran says, "My training at the University of Miami and my tours of duty as a U.S. Navy Neurologist prepared me well to handle all of the diagnoses that are present in a neurology practice."

Dr. Parris uses EMG (electromyography)testing to diagnose nerve and muscle conditions. In addition, she interprets EEG's (electroencephalograms) to help her diagnose and manage seizure activity and other focal or generalized brain disturbances.

Dr. Parris is a Florida native but finds the Northwoods a beautiful place to live. She says the people have made her feel very welcome over the years. In her spare time, Dr. Parris enjoys photography and bread baking.

Dr. Parris began her medical training at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She then completed her internship at Wayne State Affiliated Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan, and her residency in neurology at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Parris served as a Neurologist in the U.S. Navy and is a former Commanding Officer of the Medical Reserve Unit based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is board certified and licensed to practice in Wisconsin and Florida.
