In addition to treating general disorders of the eye, Dr. Dennis Anderson devotes much of his practice to pediatric ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology, which deals primarily with eye muscle problems, disorders involving the optic nerve and visual problems related to central nervous system abnormalities.
When he’s seeing his pediatric patients, Dr. Anderson screens for various vision problems and promotes routine well-eye care. “I like working with kids,” he explains, “Being able to follow kids from infancy through high school and take care of their vision is rewarding…and there are a number of adults that still come to me after being my patients when they were young.”
Dr. Anderson enjoys playing the piano, gardening and fly fishing. He started taking piano lessons just a few years ago, having always wished he’d done so as a kid. He and his wife have one daughter.
Dr. Anderson completed medical school at the College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa, an internship at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, and a residency in ophthalmology at Emory University – Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta. He is board-certified and fellowship-trained in both neuro-ophthalmology and pediatric ophthalmology.
