Brad Allar was a full-time firefighter/
paramedic when he decided he wanted
something better-suited to his growing
family. He earned his master’s degree in
physician assistant studies at the University
of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
“I knew I wanted to go into a surgical field,
and physician assistant sounded like a
good fit,” he said. He has made the most
of the opportunity, working in all aspects
of orthopedic surgery. He particularly
enjoys assisting in spine surgeries, and with
sports medicine physicians working on
injuries such as anterior cruciate ligaments,
shoulders and others.
In addition to assisting during surgeries, he often meets with new patients prior to surgery, and sees post-operative patients to check on how they are doing.
He enjoys outdoor activities, biking, camping and hiking with his four children.
