Medical Student Opportunities

Medical students have opportunities within the Marshfield Clinic System to utilize state-of-the-art electronic medical records, see multiple types of patients and interact with many different styles of practice. Fourth year medical students from all over the United States are able to apply for elective opportunities that can take place throughout the 41-center system while Junior medical students from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health are able to participate in clerkship rotations in Eau Claire, Marshfield, Minocqua, Rice Lake and Wausau. Starting in the fall of 2009, Marshfield Clinic is pioneering the future of rural medicine as the first host site for the new Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine (WARM) for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health third and fourth year medical students. From the Northwoods to the Chippewa Valley to Central Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic offers a myriad of learning opportunities for students. Offshore/International Schools

We are unable to host requests from offshore/international schools at this time. Electives with the Marshfield Clinic System can also be scheduled through the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. This may be necessary for those students whose medical school only permits elective experiences within other medical schools or if you are registered with an International or Offshore Medical School. The Marshfield Clinic System is a clinical campus of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
