Where the Future of Medicine Lives
Comprehensive cancer care offered
With the addition of radiation oncology, Marshfield Clinic Weston Center offers an advanced, convenient, multidisciplinary approach to cancer therapy.
Patients can receive chemotherapy and radiation therapy in adjacent rooms at the Weston campus. "It’s much more coordinated and convenient," said Oncologist/Hematologist Rezwan Islam, M.D., the first to join the Cancer Care team at Marshfield Clinic Wausau Center. Radiation Oncologist Ann Czyzewski, M.D., leads radiation therapy at The Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a joint service of Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Health Care.
Patient convenience is further enhanced because cancer specialists travel to other medical facilities in north central Wisconsin to provide care. The Marshfield Clinic Weston Center oncologists serve patients at hospitals in Weston, Wausau, Merrill and Stevens Point. "Our expansion in the Wausau-Weston area gives patients greater choice and convenience," Dr. Islam said.
The oncologists collaborate closely with specialists in Marshfield and throughout the Clinic system. With patient medical history and radiological reports available through the Clinic’s electronic medical record, getting a second opinion is fast and effortless, said Oncologist / Hematologist Eiko Klimant, M.D., who rounds out the team with Oncologist / Hematologist Adedayo Onitilo, M.S.C.R., M.D. "We have the expertise of 18 oncologists at our fingers," Dr. Klimant said.
