Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Overview
The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery evaluates and treats disorders of the teeth, bones, and soft tissues of the maxillofacial region. Our providers possess a wide variety of oral and maxillofacial expertise in procedures such as dental extractions, wisdom tooth removal, implant surgery, corrective jaw surgery, facial injuries, and TMJ disorders, among others.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a dental specialty requiring a minimum of four years of education beyond dental school. All Marshfield Clinic oral and maxillofacial surgeons have completed an accredited Oral Surgery residency. Patients receive high quality care that includes a board certified oral surgeon, a support staff of well-trained surgical technicians, registered nurses and licensed medical nurses, and post-operative recovery room supervision. The department offers surgical treatment utilizing advanced anesthetic and pain control procedures.
