Medical Examining Board to Meet November 18 in Marshfield
The Department of Regulation and Licensing (DRL) will host a meeting of the Medical Examining Board beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, in the Robert Froehlke Auditorium, Laird Center for Medical Research, Marshfield Clinic, 1000 North Oak Ave., Marshfield.
All health care providers, as well as members of the general public, are encouraged to attend the meeting and see firsthand how this licensing and regulatory body works.
“Holding this type of meeting outside Madison is part of a broader effort to make the work of licensing and regulatory boards more visible and accessible to the people of the state,” said DRL Secretary Celia Jackson.
The meeting will include a discussion of the new Medical Examining Board Bureau which was approved by the Governor and Legislature in the 2009-2011 state budget. The new bureau in the Department of Regulation and Licensing will provide additional resources to handle credentialing and enforcement demands in the medical professions.
The board will also discuss:
- Proposed content and format for a new annual report it will begin publishing in January 2011.
- Reporting requirements for facilities when they have a change in privileges of one of their employees who is credentialed by the MEB.
- Issues related to exam requirements for new applicants.
