AUSCHWITZ SURVIVOR AND FORGIVENESS ADVOCATE TO SPEAK IN MARSHFIELD NOVEMBER 10

Eva Mozes Kor, a Holocaust survivor and forgiveness advocate, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Columbus Catholic High School, Marshfield.

Kor will present “Surviving Auschwitz and the Life Lessons I Have learned; Ethics in Medicine and Research: Lessons from Mengele’s Lab.” The presentation is free and open to the public.

Kor and her twin sister, Miriam, born in Romania in 1934, were victims of Dr. Josef Mengele’s medical experiments at Auschwitz. They were among just 200 survivors of the 3,000 children victimized at the camp. Kor founded CANDLES (Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors) in 1984.

Following her presentation, Kor will be available to answer questions from the public. To allow for greater participation, those in attendance will have the opportunity to spend one minute with Kor to ask questions. A book signing and reception will follow.

Prior to her presentation at about 6:15 p.m., Kor will join an ecumenical group at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, for a candlelight memorial service and a procession through personalized memorial luminaries to Columbus Catholic High School.

Memorial luminaries are available for $5 from the Columbus Catholic Student Council and will be available for those who purchased them to take home following Eva’s speech. The deadline to order memorial luminaries is Wednesday, October 28.

Please send your memorial dedication with check payable to MACS to:
