During October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Marshfield Clinic staff members will be wearing pink to raise funds to support breast cancer prevention and care.

“We now have over 50 Marshfield Clinic departments participating in the Pink Day campaign,” said Jill Kurszewski, Marshfield Clinic Annual Giving and Special Events coordinator. “We’ve also extended an invitation to area businesses to coordinate their own Pink Day events to help support programs for breast cancer care.”

Pink Day allows participants to dress in pink to show their support for breast cancer awareness. Participants are asked to make a $1 donation in addition to wearing pink clothing, which will go towards programs to benefit breast cancer prevention and care at Marshfield Clinic. Some of those programs include:

• Mobile Health Services – Mobile Mammography
• WINGS Cancer Survivorship Program
• Catherine Fonti Breast Cancer Angel Fund
• Wisconsin Rapids Pink Ribbon Cancer Survivor’s Garden
• Breast Cancer Support Group (Women Living With Hope)
• Breast Cancer Research

Departments located at Clinic centers in Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Weston, Minocqua, Ladysmith, Eau Claire, Park Falls and the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic in Ohio will be participating. The following Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center departments have already committed to participating by selecting their own Pink Day:

• Information Systems – October 21
• Pediatrics Department – October 20
• Marshfield Labs – October 14
