MARSHFIELD CLINIC TO BREAK GROUND FOR ARCADIA CENTER
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Marshfield Clinic Arcadia Center will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, October 9.
The ceremony for the 5,000-square-foot Marshfield Clinic Arcadia Center will take place at the future clinic site, 945 S. Dettloff Road, Arcadia. Food, refreshments and door prize drawings will follow a short program.
Those expected to speak at the groundbreaking event include Arcadia Mayor John Kimmel and a representative from the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce. Karl Ulrich, M.D., M.M.M., Marshfield Clinic president and CEO, and Western Division Medical Director Brad Bekkum, M.D., are scheduled to attend and speak.
Marshfield Clinic Arcadia Center is scheduled to open in mid 2010.
Marshfield Clinic’s expansion to Arcadia gives residents in a rural part of the state more access to health care and yet another choice, according to Max Winkels, Marshfield Clinic administrator who will oversee Arcadia Center.
“We’re excited to build on our success in Osseo,” Winkels said. “Arcadia is a vibrant community and we look forward to being a positive partner in southern Trempealeau County.”
In the past two years, Marshfield Clinic has opened new primary care clinics in Cumberland, Lake Hallie, Elk Mound and Bloomer. In addition to Arcadia, Marshfield Clinic will open a new facility in Hayward in 2010.
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education with 45 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
