Nilesh Thakkar, D.D.S., FAGD, a dentist at Marshfield Clinic Ladysmith Dental Center, recently earned the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (A.G.D.)

Dentists presented with the Fellowship Award, which epitomizes excellence in the dental profession and commitment to exceptional patient care, are looking to provide the highest quality dental care by remaining current in their profession. To earn this award, Thakkar completed 500 hours of continuing education, passed a comprehensive written exam and fulfilled three years of continuing A.G.D. membership.

“The requirements for the fellowship provided a structured program for me to continue learning more about every dental specialty,” Thakkar said. “My patients can be assured that I am keeping up with the newest and most current developments in dental treatment, and this will enable me to provide better care.”

In receiving this award Thakkar joins more than 14,000 dental community members who recognize it takes more than meeting basic requirements to provide their patients with good oral health and great smiles.

Thakkar earned his dentistry degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry, Milwaukee. In addition to membership in A.G.D., he is a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, International Association of Dental Traumatology and American Academy of Periodontology.

The A.G.D. is a professional association of more than 35,000 dentists dedicated to staying up-to-date in the profession through continuing education.
