Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center Radiology Department has been awarded another three-year term of accreditation in Obstetrics/Gynecology and General Ultrasound services as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

“We are carrying on a strong tradition of excellent quality in ultrasound imaging,” said Kris Slavinsky, Radiology manager, Marshfield Clinic North Division. “On this survey, the department received a score of 100 percent of the points possible with no comments on how to improve – which is an amazing testament to our staff.”

Being accredited through the American College of Radiology helps show patients, referring physicians and insurance companies that Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center’s Radiology Department regularly undergoes this rigorous review process to meet nationally accepted standards of care.

“It demonstrates our commitment to quality care and patient safety and we want all of our patients to know that we make quality care a high priority,” Slavinsky said.

The American College of Radiology is a national organization which awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by experts in the field who assess the qualifications of the personnel and adequacy of the facility equipment.

“I’d like to specifically congratulate Laurale Strasser and Kari Kohls, our stellar ultrasonographers, for their excellent work in ultrasound imaging,” Slavinsky said. “I’d like to also congratulate Radiologist Dr. David Zhang for overseeing the Ultrasound Department and helping, once again, with the accreditation process.”
