BARIATRIC SURGEON JOINS MARSHFIELD CLINIC MARSHFIELD CENTER
The newest member of the bariatric surgery team at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center is Stanley Hahn, M.D.
Hahn will perform general surgery as well as the laparoscopic bypass and lap band bariatric surgeries.
Hahn earned his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. While there, he studied under the “grandfather” of bariatric surgery, Dr. Edward Mason. He then worked in private practice in California and Texas, successfully performing more than 1,500 cases, but decided to relocate after experiencing – and being evacuated from – three hurricanes.
“I grew up in north central Iowa and went to school there, and I have a sister in Minneapolis. We were also drawn to the schools in Marshfield and I thought the Clinic was top notch,” Hahn said of their decision to move.
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education with 45 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
