WITTENBERG-BIRNAMWOOD HIGH SCHOOL TO HOST CPR ANYTIME TRAINING

Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School will host a free CPR Anytime Training Session for the community at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 23.

Supported by free CPR Anytime Kits from the Marshfield Clinic/Ministry Health Care Heart Team, the program is open to anyone interested in the community.

“We encourage everyone to learn CPR – including students, adults and seniors,” said Jeanette Abraham, M.D., family medicine physician at Marshfield Clinic Wittenberg Center. “These are life saving skills that anyone can learn. The more people who know CPR in our community, the greater the chances of someone locally surviving a cardiac arrest if someone nearby performs CPR.”

Each CPR Anytime Kit contains a training DVD and a manikin, which inflates to practice ventilation and compression techniques that are part of performing CPR. In addition, information will also be provided on how to deal with choking in adults and infants.

The program will be held in the library of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School, 400 West Grand Avenue. The program is limited to the first 60 participants. For more information or to register, please contact Nancy Nueske, district nurse at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School at 715-253-2221.

“We are proud to be partnering with the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Schools to provide these life saving skills to the community,” said Patti Jozwiak, Marshfield Clinic center manager.

Funding for the CPR Anytime program is possible as the result of a grant from the American Heart Association to the Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Health Care Heart Care Team.

The Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Health Care heart care team is a cooperative effort by two leading health care organizations working together as a single leading team. For over 90 years, this has enabled the team to deliver the very highest level of care available in the region. It is the heart care team chosen more often than any other local program, treating more of the most complex cases and conducting more research into leading edge heart care treatments. The team is made up of primary care physicians, cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, researchers, and other physicians and staff located at 41 hospitals and clinics.
