MARSHFIELD CLINIC WELCOMES URGENT CARE PHYSICIAN
Ratnesh Chopra, M.D., has joined the Urgent Care Department at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center.
Chopra spent the last four years in a private internal medicine practice in a small town in Kansas, which included a walk-in practice. In addition, his wife Jasjyot Nanra, M.D., is a Marshfield Clinic hospitalist in Marshfield, caring for patients at Saint Joseph’s Hospital for four years. Together, they liked the idea of staying in a small town to raise their children, daughter Suner, 22 months, and son J.R., 9 months.
“It was tough leaving Kansas, where I had gotten to know everyone,” Chopra said. “I think the most important thing to me in my practice is to have empathy for the patient. They are here because something is troubling them and they have taken time out from their schedule to see us. I always tell people to ask a lot of questions and tell me anything that’s on their mind.”
Chopra also looks forward to teaching students and residents. He earned his medical degree from University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He then completed two internships and residency programs, in India and at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York, where he also served for a year as chief resident.
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education with 45 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
