James Gunelson, D.D.S., has joined the staff at Marshfield Clinic Neillsville Dental Center.

Gunelson joins Tammy Boudry, D.D.S., Elizabeth Chiulli, D.D.S., Michael Chiulli, D.D.S., and Heather Petricig, D.D.S., to provide dental care to patients at Neillsville Dental Center, located at 8 Boon Boulevard, Neillsville.

“Joining the staff at Neillsville Dental Center is an excellent opportunity for me,” Gunelson said. “Marshfield Clinic treats its staff well. At the same time, I have the opportunity to treat patients who otherwise would not have access to care. It’s nice to be able to help those patients get the care they require.”

Gunelson earned his dentistry degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Minneapolis. He earned his undergraduate degree from The College of Saint Scholastica, Duluth, Minnesota.

Gunelson knew he wanted to work in a health care-related profession.

“I was looking to go into either medicine or dentistry,” Gunelson said. “Growing up in a family of dentists, I saw first-hand patients who were in pain and were able to get relief. Just seeing the gratitude from patients who had been helped was one of the factors that made dentistry an easy career decision for me.”

Gunelson is most passionate about preventative dental care.

“It’s important to help patients understand there are inexpensive things they can do, such as brushing and flossing, that can help them avoid big, expensive oral health problems,” Gunelson said.

Neillsville Dental Center opened for patient care on Monday, August 10. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility took place Monday, May 11, and a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony took place Friday, September 11.

Neillsville Dental Center offers general dentistry services including preventive, restorative, operative, prosthodontics, endodontics, diagnostic, oral surgery and emergency care. It serves all patients, regardless of ability to pay or insurance status (uninsured, commercial or public – i.e., ForwardHealth – coverage). A Dental Financial Assistance Program is available for those with limited income.
