MARSHFIELD CLINIC TO HOST UPCOMING LADIES NIGHT OUT EVENT
Local women are invited to interact with others and learn about women’s health issues at a free Ladies’ Night Out program sponsored by Marshfield Clinic on Tuesday, September 22, at the Weston Regional Medical Center campus.
The topic for the evening will be “Mammograms 101 - everything you want and need to know about mammograms and good breast health.” Ellen Schumann, M.D., medical director, Marshfield Clinic Women’s Wellness, will introduce a panel of experts including Mary Kolbeck, R.N., and Michele Butalla, R.T.(R)(M), of the Women’s Imaging Center at The Diagnostic & Treatment Center; Sherri Wagner, RDMS, R.T.(R), and Judy Laehn, R.T.(R)(M), of Marshfield Clinic Radiology; and Jill Depke, N.P., Marshfield Clinic Oncology.
The panel of experts will provide an in-depth discussion on mammograms and women’s breast health. A question and answer session will follow the presentation, as well as a behind-the-scenes tour of the Women’s Imaging Center by Kolbeck and Butalla.
Jodi Aldrich, Marshfield Clinic Patient Financial Services, will be on hand to discuss and answer questions on services and eligibility for the Wisconsin Well Woman Program. The program covers annual screening exams including mammograms and pap tests for women with little or no health insurance coverage.
Social time for the event begins at 6:30 p.m., with the education program from 7 – 8 p.m. The Weston Regional Medical Center is located off Highway X and Weston Avenue. Take Cranberry Boulevard to parking lot 3; enter through door No. 3 for the program.
Ladies’ Night Out takes place the fourth Tuesday night every month and has a dual purpose, said Ellen Schumann, M.D., medical director of Women’s Wellness at Marshfield Clinic.
“The prevention and education component increases women’s knowledge base, giving them support in areas they’ve told us they struggle,” she said. “It’s also an opportunity to socialize and meet women with similar interests or issues.”
There is no charge for the program, but pre-registration is requested. To register, please call 715-393-2345.
The Marshfield Clinic system provides patient care, research and education with 45 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
