EAGLE RIVER RALLY FOR A CURE GOLF EVENT RAISED FUNDS FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

Another fun and successful Rally for a Cure golf event took place on Saturday, August 22 at Eagle River Golf Course. This was the ninth year of the event, which raises funds for breast cancer research at Marshfield Clinic with additional proceeds supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

“First National Bank of Eagle River provided great support once again this year as the Premier Sponsor of the event,” said Jill Kurszewski, Marshfield Clinic Development Department and event coordinator. “Several businesses in Eagle River, Three Lakes and the surrounding communities contributed generously to make the event a great success.”

The event drew 84 golfers, including radio host Dave Kallaway from WIFC, and several volunteers from First National Bank of Eagle River and Marshfield Clinic. In addition to the golf scramble, raffles and auctions were held throughout the day.

“Last year’s event generated over $20,000 for breast cancer research at Marshfield Clinic. Those funds help Marshfield Clinic improve the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer with the hope of one day eradicating the disease,” Kurszewski said. “Save the date for next year’s Rally for a Cure, Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010. The event will celebrate its 10th anniversary, which is sure to be a huge celebration.”

If you are interested in participating in the event as a golfer or volunteer, or would like to make a donation, please contact Jill Kurszewski at Marshfield Clinic at 715-389-5146, or Anita Fritz at Eagle River Golf Course at 715-479-8111 or go to www.marshfieldclinic.org/golfevents.

Event coordinator Anita Fritz from the Eagle River Golf Course and her event team would like to thank all of the sponsors, donors, volunteers and golfers who helped make this event successful.

  • Flight A: Beth Conant, Garth Gilster, Deb Conant and Barry Hotlzman
