MARSHFIELD CLINIC AND HOWARD YOUNG HEALTH CARE SUPPORT KIDS AGAINST HUNGER
Marshfield Clinic and Howard Young Health Care (HYHC) are once again supporting the 2nd annual “Kids Against Hunger” effort with contributions of $250 from each organization.
Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit, humanitarian organization confronting world hunger by providing balanced, nutritious food for starving children around the world. According to Woody Hagge, Minocqua event organizer, last year’s effort attracted more than 700 volunteers who participated in packaging 104,500 meals for the world’s hungriest children.
“No one can ever doubt that the Northwoods has a big heart,” said Hagge. “But it takes more than a big heart and busy hands to feed hungry children. It takes money to buy the ingredients to make the meals. This donation from Marshfield Clinic and Howard Young Health Care will help us achieve our goal of providing 150,000 meals through this year’s effort.”
This year’s food packaging event will be held on Saturday, October 31, at Lakeland Union High School.
“As Richard Proudfit, founder of Kids Against Hunger, says; ‘When you feed a child, you feed our future.’ In a world of seven billion people, it’s easy to feel like a drop in the bucket. But through the Kids Against Hunger program, our drops in the bucket will send ripples around the world,” Hagge said.
If you would like to be involved in helping to treat the hungry children of the world to a meal, contact Hagge at 356-2075. If you would like to make a donation, make checks to “Kids Against Hunger”, and mail to: P.O. Box 10, Hazelhurst, WI 54531.
