NEW WELLNESS PRODUCT REWARDS HEALTHY BEHAVIOR
Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., introduces Healthy Advantage Rewards, a new wellness product designed to improve health while lowering health care costs. Healthy Advantage Rewards, available July 1 for fully insured and self-funded employers, allows employers to incent employees to participate in specific healthy activities.
“With Healthy Advantage Rewards, employers receive all the advantages of a healthier workforce including increased morale and productivity, along with decreased health care costs,” said Steve Youso, chief administrative officer, Security Health Plan.
Healthy Advantage Rewards allows employers to choose which incentives to offer and contribution amounts for each. When employees complete a specific healthy activity, they receive funding through a health reimbursement arrangement to pay their health insurance deductible and/or coinsurance.
“Healthy Advantage Rewards allows employers to support healthy lifestyles by rewarding employees for participating in activities that will improve their health,” said Youso.
Employers can choose to incent the following activities: completing a health risk assessment, non-tobacco usage, receiving a flu vaccination, completing an annual preventive service exam, participating in a disease management program, receiving an annual mammogram, completing a cholesterol screening and completing a fasting blood sugar (glucose) screening.
