General Internal Medicine provides preventative and primary care services and is the point of first contact to patients referred to Marshfield Clinic. Internal Medicine physicians are specially trained to diagnose and treat medical problems in adults. They treat people’s acute and chronic illnesses in the hospital and in outpatient care settings. They treat such conditions as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, depression, high blood pressure, stroke, arthritis and other common and uncommon medical problems. They also perform complete physical exams, gynecologic exams and routine follow-ups.
