Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery

Overview

Marshfield Clinic's Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is one of the largest such departments in Wisconsin, with 14 otolaryngologists at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center, Wausau Center, Eau Claire Center, Chippewa Center, Minocqua Center, Rice Lake Center and Weston Center.

Strong ties among the otolaryngologists at all of these centers results in excellent coordinated care for patients.

Regular departmental televideo meetings, combined tumor boards, a fully integrated electronic medical record, online radiology and constant interaction are our strengths as a department. Patients are referred easily within the department to those with specific areas of expertise, facilitating the most appropriate care possible.

The Marshfield Center continues to develop subspecialty care in head and neck surgery, otology, endoscopic sinus surgery, voice disorders and sleep disorders. Among the many advances are:

• Cochlear implants
• Sleep apnea surgery
• Radio guided parathyroid surgery with intraoperative Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) control
• Endoscopic orbital decompression
• An integrated approach to head and neck malignancies
