A statewide program of Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach.
AmeriCorps, often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps, places individuals who give a year of their life to serve in communities.
Marshfield Clinic AmeriCorps places members with community coalitions across Wisconsin to help “Get Things Done.”
AmeriCorps members provide one year of service to assist in organizing and supporting community coalitions in their efforts to address the social and health consequences of youth substance abuse.
Marshfield Clinic AmeriCorps members are supervised by local site supervisors and provided with regular support and direction from the Program Manager at Marshfield Clinic.
AmeriCorps members serve for 10-12 months (1700 hours), averaging 32 – 40 hours a week. Applicants must be 21 years of age by the start date and have a high school diploma or general educational development and/or high school equivalency diploma.
Members have numerous opportunities for travel, conferences, learning events and retreats. Annual events include member orientation, training retreats, end of year celebration, and much more. Each year, the term of service begins in early September.
