Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Mission Statement

To provide and sustain a comprehensive continuing medical education program for providers, supporting intentional efforts to enhance patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, and professionalism, while promoting best practice in health care, which measurably improves patient outcomes.

Overview

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) section helps make health care safer, more effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable by providing physicians continuing medical education (CME) programming and continuing education programs to health professionals. Many of these programs are delivered on site at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center and videoconferenced throughout the Marshfield Clinic System. More than 60 major conferences are sponsored each year.

Marshfield Clinic is accredited by the Wisconsin Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The Clinic also holds several accreditations from other agencies to provide continuing education programs for a variety of health professions.
