George E. Magnin Medical Library

About the Library

The George E. Magnin Medical Library is a 5,200 square foot medical research facility, located in the Melvin R. Laird Center at Marshfield Clinic.

Originally founded in 1916 as a department of Marshfield Clinic, the library has grown to incorporate computer labs, over 20,000 bound volumes and 2,000 textbooks. The George E. Magnin Medical Library also subscribes to approximately 460 periodicals covering clinical medicine, general science, and computer science.

The library was dedicated in honor of George E. Magnin, M.D., a distinguished physician and medical educator at Marshfield Clinic.

Mission Statement

The mission of the George E. Magnin Medical Library is to promote the goals of Marshfield Clinic by providing current, accurate, work-related information services to all employees and students of the medical complex in order to support excellence in patient care, education, research and administration.
